Jubin Framed

Welcome to Parallax View, the informed website for people whose self-worth isn't determined by the ability or otherwise of a pale caucasian blonde to run 26 miles in temperatures of 40 degrees centigrade and high humidity faster than anyone else on the globe. We're so sorry that some people had to put their union jack buntings away and didn't get the chance to complete their full circuit of the conga last night, but we kind of consider that the poor girl's personal loss was greater.

Speaking of pale-skinned blonde girls exposed to the elements, Big Brother 5's self-styled 'posh totty' Shell Jubin made little secret of the fact that she wanted to win the show to help pay off some family debts. So having missed out on the winnings (she came fourth), the former life model appears to have opted for another way of raising cash quickly by posing for page 3 (not safe for work, duh). Let's hope there's a bit of cash left over for a trip to the hairdressers so she can finally trim that fringe. Tsk, students.

Despite appearing to have no hang-ups, Ms Jubin reckons her pictures should be mounted at the Tate. Now we don't know whether they're art, but we know what we like, etc...

Meanwhile, belated congratulations to my friend Michele on turning 40 on Friday. I've decided that I know far too many people under the Leo star sign, and it's just getting too difficult to keep up. I think I'm going to have to dump them all on a pacific island with just one can of hairspray between them until it's last mane standing. In vaguely related news, Battle Royale 2 has finally been released on DVD in the UK as of today.

Elsewhere, Ladytron make a cameo appearance in a Greek comic strip; the cast and crew have been announced for the film adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis' Glamorama (via Watching Bret Easton Ellis) and The Guardian report that some obscure William Burroughs films, rescued from a tip by Genesis P. Orridge in the 80s, are surfacing on DVD for the first time via those folk on the edge of the screen at Screen Edge.

Blog of note: Darren Barefoot writes mainly about film, and being a professional writer, he does it rather well. If that doesn't grab you, he also has an mp3 of Milla Jovovich singing Lou Reed's 'Satellite Of Love'.

And finally, whoever sang 'It Might As Well Rain Until September' should've shut the fuck up, if you ask me.
