Time To Burn?

Still crispier than a burnt-down Walkers' factory, although my skin now blossoming from a raging red to a putrid pink/purple-y colour - just thank your lord that there never has been (or ever will be) a naked webcam at the palatial home of Parallax View. Still, there are more important things to discuss than my devil-may-care laugh-in-the-face-of-mortality flirting with skin cancer, such as The Beta Band going the way of Betamax after their UK tour. It's all down to me, of course, because their latest album is the only one of theirs I haven't bought. The idea of the Betas going all Alpha Male on our arses with their beefed-up pumped-up wannabe-U2 stylings didn't appeal too much to me, I'm afraid.

By contrast, PV is indeed salivating slightly at the prospect of a new Cronenberg movie, and via astralpunch learns that William Hurt and Ed Harris are set to join Viggo Mortenson for The History Of Violence which is apparently an adaptation of a graphic novel.

Meanwhile, Danger! High Postage's Phill Huxley is the lucky fellow who got to get 'in-depth' with the lovely Carina Round whose career is back on the rise following her signing to Interscope Records. If you want to see what I made of the Carina Round live experience some three summers ago here's the review (you'll need to scroll down a little).

The teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins is now online. Hmm.

Much more entertaining is Jonathan over at Assistant Blog clearly in two minds about the new Libertines album. I have similar mixed feelings about the prospect of The Strokes' live album. Could be good, but smacks a little of desperation.

Finally, some good news over at West Ham as we sign Luke Chadwick from the Man Ure. Not that I rate him that much as a player, but at least Britain's Ugliest Blogger(TM) won't be the biggest faceache at Upton Park next season. You can expect my full Coca Cola Championship preview before the weekend, in what could turn out to be the Hammers' last season before going into administration.

Now, talking of faceaches, must go and say Aloe to Vera.
