Coca Cola Championship Preview

The former Division One in English football is notoriously difficult to predict, but the levelling out in finances across the teams makes it even more treacherous territory this term. My own West Ham face a real do-or-die season as failure to win promotion looks set to lead to administration and the end of the club as we know it. However, the defence isn't strong enough to give us the clean sheets we need to get an automatic place, so the russian roulette of the play-offs look like being our best bet. Er, can't wait.

Elsewhere, the two imponderables are Leeds United (who could be anything this season) and Sunderland (who have admirably invested in youth) - if either get off to a good start and begin packing their stadia they will be difficult to catch.
