Big Brother 4 is wank, and I'm not referring to hothead Ray putting the toss into tostestorone the other day (I'm very disappointed though nobody's done an animated gif yet of his piston-action pulling technique). Despite some good wheezes from the production team this season (the 'porn room' rewards and the spiffy superhero task) the meddling in the eviction process has resulted in the the exits for the three most interesting characters on the show (Anoushka; Fed; and Jon Tickle) and we're still only halfway through. Sure, they were all annoying in their own way, but they've been the only three who appear to have made an effort to make the show interesting. Of the remaining seven, bookies' favourite Scott seems a sound sort but his memorable moments on the show so far have been...?

My support remains with nefarious Nush, but only because I've always had a fascination for girls with evil minds beneath their pretty faces. The rest just aren't in her league. Sample conversation from this morning's E4 feed -

Cameron: Nice shower, Gos?
Gos: Yeah, it was lovely.

Nice shower? Nice shower?!! What sort of interesting conversation was that supposed to elicit? Yeah Cameron, the pattern of the cascading waterdrops was particularly psychedelic this morning mate, it was just like being on drugs, innit? or something? Compulsive television: not.

Of course whenever there are surprise exits the paranoid theories start. Over on the forums at Big Bro 4 there are some strong feelings that snarky editing and official website summaries were deliberately made to cast Jon in an unfavourable light in the days leading up to the vote. Not sure about that, but the omission of a violent threat from Cameron is more revealing. Seems Channel 4 are desperate to stoke up the possibility of romance between camp Cameron and sexless Steph to keep up interest in the show. I don't think there's any chance of that happening unless they get caught out in the closet together one day...

Only the return of Anoushka can save the show now. Keep your fingers crossed for a 'surprise' announcement on Monday's Big Brother's Little Brother.
