Leighton Rees RIPLast Fling. Found myself short of reading matter during a work break earlier today so resorted to glancing through a colleague's week-old copy of the Daily Mail and there's something faintly reassuring about reading the panic stories in the reactionary press a week after the fact and be able to notice that the world's still turning.

But I also spotted some sad news I'd otherwise missed - namely the death last week (June 8th) of Leighton Rees, the first ever Embassy World Darts champion, from a heart attack aged 61. He'll no doubt be sharpening Cupid's arrows as we speak. But who'd have guessed the double top geezer would've earned himself a flowery tribute in The New York Times, eh?
