Well, if you took my advice and recorded 'the young man from Littlehampton' and self-proclaimed 'rock 'n' roll quizzer' Olav's appearance on Grand Slam yesterday you'll probably know by now that he won through to the next round of the competition after successfully vanquishing the second Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? winner David Edwards. It was the first of the quiz show I'd seen and I'd describe it as kind of Gladiators meets Mastermind, with Carol Vorderman and erstwhile Football Italia presenter James Richardson doing footie-style analysis between rounds. Luther Blissett was sadly nowhere to be seen.
Olav reflects on his experiences in more fulsome detail in this article in yesterday's Guardian. It turned into a bit of a procession in the end as quiz veteran Edwards surprisingly went to pieces in the face of Olav's impassive, gimlet-eyed cool.
Thing is Olav, now I've talked you up in some style and refrained from making peurile sniggering remarks about Littlehampton, can I have that date with your uberfox sister Kristine? Hmm?
