Las Catch Up [bumper edition]

Brendan Benson is to do an acoustic PA at Highway 61 record shop in Wolverhampton on Saturday April 5th at 1pm. If you're gonna go, you may well bump into me. I'll have my hand all over my face so you'll be sure to recognise me.

Leslie Cheung RIP.

Glasto sold out already. Looks to be a much better line-up this year, with REM and Radiohead headlining, although Moby has been announced as Sunday's headliner rather than the much-anticipated Prince. Madonna's projected appearance also seems to be wide of the mark. If this is your first fest, let this 1997 veteran advise you this: don't forget to take your wellies.

Somebody came here looking for Bridget Moynihan nude. I'm sorry, this is the nearest I could find (safe for work-ish?)

On March 15 I missed the Numbers/Rogers Sisters gig in London because it clashed with the Jimi Tenor show in uptown Camden. Helpfully, somebody who was there has posted interesting review to tell me what I missed.

Here's a thoughtful Gaby Rado obit by his Channel 4 News colleague Jon Snow.

There's a website dedicated to Kimberley Walsh from Girls Aloud. Why? 'Because she looks great in leather trousers'. Fair enough, I guess. But are her lips real? I thought she looked distinctly embarrassed when Cat Deeley said on CD-UK that lots of people would pay to have lips like hers. Or maybe I was just imagining things.

Snackspot (may include nuts). Yeah, like the nuts awaiting sightings of 'microwaveable indiginous Australian cuisine' (ooh, try digesting that!). Great, great site found via The Minor Fall etc.. My own product recommendation is for Bendicks' Mingles. They're minty, chocolaty and contained inside really cute pastel green wrappers. Oh, and you can never find them in the kitchen at parties.

Olav reviews The Sleepy Jackson. And finds them wanting. Haven't heard this record yet, but I just love the cover.

And finally...a couple of blogs I've come across recently. First up there's Claire Flynn Boyle Goes Pop! a popcult blog from Australia. Which means, amongst other things, some great pics of the Minogue sisters.

And then there's Chinese Food a hugely satisfying weblog which will leave you hungry for more within a couple of hours.

PS. It's my birthday on Saturday (5th April). If you can't be joining me feel free to give generously. With items starting at £3.99 it's not much more than a bottle of Smirnoff Ice, is it?

And yes, you're right, that noise you just heard was the sound of my dignity leaving the building. I'd best get after it and see if I can retrieve some. I may be some time...
