Back of the KlassCome On Myleene

Parallax View renews acquaintance with an old friend today by linking to Myleene Klass' pictorial in the February 2003 edition of FHM. A little concerned though that Myleene's debut solo single, a classical/pop crossover in the mould of Vanessa Carlton, was originally due out this month but appears to have completely disappeared off the radar...

Australian pop progeny Imogen Bailey is another one out to promote her career the plight of animal cruelty with this naked poster ad to stop Thai elephant cruelty. There's a joke in there about the upcoming White Stripes album, feel free to make one up in my creative absence.

I'm about halfway through reading Elmore Leonard's latest rifftastic thriller Tishomingo Blues so I was interested to read (via the flippin' essential astralpunch) that Stephen Soderbergh and George Clooney (thought that would get your attention, girls) are set to produce the film version with Soderbergh regular Don Cheadle to make his directorial debut as well as co-star. Should be one to watch out for in 2004. Don't let that put you off reading the book though, it's prime cut Leonard which is astonishing given he's now getting on for 80 years old.

Wonder Woman gets a makeover. The DC comics heroine to get 'an edgy new look' complete with short-cropped spiky hair and camouflage bustier. Let's hope she can stay curvy as well as edgy otherwise they're in danger of missing the point.

And finally...you may want to bookmark this work-in-progress: The Secret Order Of The LOTR Fangirls. Let them explain - 'we are a group of females who are overly obsessed with and worship certain male characters of LOTR. This is the place where we blog about our fantasies, do some glompage, and of course chant to the Legolas statue.' Not sure what glompage is, but I hope their mothers are still around to clean up after them.
