An uncomfortable week for Cheryl TweedyIn a troubled week where Girls Aloud stunna Cheryl Tweedy had to report to court on racial violence charges (she's been put on bail until April 11) perhaps Parallax View has been remiss in not focussing on the girl's good points. I'm happy to now redress that balance with the picture to your left, taken from The Sun. Apparently, the new Girls Aloud single, out in May, sounds like 'My Sharona' by The Knack and is fantastic. Surely one of those statements can't be true?

Tivo reports on Oscar viewing behaviour. Most paused moment was Julia Roberts' entrance (no further comment necessary). Most replayed moments were the anti-war statements of Michael Moore and Adrien Brody (who put the camp into Belsen with his theatrical display of shock on hearing his award for Best Actor for The Pianist, although to be fair his speech seemed more genuine and heartfelt).

Not that Parallax View necessarily condones either but you may enjoy this Gulf War Drinking Game I found via Vodkabird. While we're being irreverent about the suffering of millions you may be amused by the description of this musical knitted Saddam Hussein toy via the soon-to-be-departed Zappo.

In brief - Godspeed Ye Black Emperor have been arrested as suspected terrorists. On release, frontman Efrim is quoted as saying 'we're just lucky we're nice white kids from Canada'. In happier news Toploader have been offloaded. It's a relief to report that big curly ginger hair is well back out of fashion (welcome news via Stevie Nixed).
