Hmf. Dumped by txt msg. Welcome to the 21st century, Dead Kenny. So consequently right now feeling about as wanted as Glenn Roeder is at Upton Park. Speaking of which, trust Arseblogger to shit on a man while he's down...
Tonight's 4-2 reverse against Charlton effectively extinguishes any optimism generated by the purchases of Bowyer and Ferdinand (Snr). If there are still bookies about willing to take your money run your ass off to put your mortgage on the Hammers dropping down into the Nationwide because, as I predicted as early as last November, relegation seems a racing certainty. I'm not entirely sure what the record low Premiership points tally is (I'm guessing it was Swindon, or last year's Leicester) but that might be worth a punt as well, the way things are going.
The club has to start preparing for the Nationwide as of now, and with debts of £45m+ efforts need to be made to reduce the wages bill before the closing of the transfer window at the end of the month. For a start, we may as well offer Bowyer his inevitable free transfer to the Tottscum now, and pressure should be mounted on lifetime Hammers fan Roeder to recognise he's not up to the job and do the decent thing and resign (as the club can't afford to sack him and pay up his contract).
It's probably asking too much to ask the back four to do the same, mind. Lomas, Breen, Dailly and Minto - Hammers fans will have nightmares for the rest of their natural-born thinking about that line-up. It's almost enough to make you yearn for the desperate days of the 1990-1 squad back when Tottscum reject Mitchell Thomas was our midfield lynchpin. At least we stopped Man Ure winning the title that year though.
