Parallax View Books Of The Year

The best of the books read that were published in the UK for the first time in 2005 in either hardcover or paperback.

1. Never Let Me Go - Kazuo Ishiguro
2. Cloud Atlas - David Mitchell
3. Lunar Park - Bret Easton Ellis
4. Kafka On The Shore - Haruki Murakami
5. Specimen Days - Michael Cunningham
6. Clear - Nicola Barker
7. Incendiary - Chris Cleave
8. The Possibility Of An Island - Michel Houellebecq
9. The Contortionist's Handbook - Craig Clevenger
10. Windows On The World - Fredric Beigbeder

The best of the older books read was Under The Skin by Michel Faber, which was first published back in 2000. It's one of those books where the less you know about the plot the better, but it's a novel that really stays with you for a long time afterwards and is highly recommended.
