Absentee Landlord

Well, quite frankly, Dead Kenny's not entirely sure what day of the week it is, let alone which spiffing new records are out in the shops, so we've had to draft in our Scottish correspondent Vicky to provide us the details of our Parallax View Single Of The Week. And so it goes to Love Is A Number by The White Rose Movement which Vicky, with welcome brevity, would like to assure everyone is 'fantastic'.

We've had a quick listen for quality control purposes, and Dead Kenny's verdict is that the verses are quite dull but this is compensated for by not one, but two, peachy choruses (chorii?). They'll regret being so wasteful with such things later, you know, by the time they get to that difficult third album and they've run out of tunes. But for now, this week's PV SOTW is sure to be well received down on the kohl-face of your local monthly goth disco.

Meanwhile, keep it PV for a forthcoming review of Friday's Wireless Festival in Hyde Park where Dead Kenny caught up with New Order, Rilo Kiley and The Psychedelic Furs, amongst others.

Finally, Countdown presenter Richard Whiteley RIP. Pneumonia + heart operation = his number's up, sadly.
