Barricades and Brickwalls by Kasey Chambers. Aussie Kasey Chambers treads a fine line between alt.country and old country on her second album, but it's her exceptional, heartrending voice (think Maria McKee but better) that stands out throughout and which is heard to its best advantage on the ballads Not Pretty Enough; A Million Tears and If I Were You. It's a varied enough album to appeal to a wide variety of listeners, and is definitely a grower.
