Taken from the cellophane wrapper of Static Delusions and Stone-Still Days by The Catheters -

'NOTICE! In a reluctant concession to the likelihood that you the consumer will find design elements within this package similar to what might mistakenly be referred to as a 'manufacturing error' or 'shoddy workmanship', please, please, PLEASE accept our assurances that this is not the case. In point of fact, EVERYTHING you will find within the specially engineered protective cellophane wrapping guarding the pristine state of this compact disc IS AS WE INTENDED. Please enjoy your role in our ongoing effort to subvert the ordinary.'

Subpop records, Gawd bless 'em. Trust 'em to package a record in some kind of modern art statement. But the excellent thing about this label is that as often as not the product within justifies the trouble. And that's certainly the case with 'Static Delusions etc...' a raw, dirty piece of bluesy rock 'n' roll that's the most vital release from the label in recent memory. Think The Hives without the irony. The Bellrays fronted by David Johansen. In fact, at its best, this record makes The Hives seem like so much wink, and hey! I like The Hives. This is the sort of album today's rock kids should be consuming instead of all that watered-down, commercialised Nickelback cock. Hunt it down immediately.

And aren't you impressed that I've got this far without taking the piss out of the band's name? Erm...
