When I heard New York band The Bravery described as sounding like Morrissey fronting Duran Duran, I had to investigate with immediate effect. After all, nothing could possibly be as bad as that sounds, could it? Luckily Unconditional sounds like nothing of the sort, being sparkly pop of the highest order, reminiscent of Depeche Mode in the early years before Dave Gahan found drugs and convinced himself he was Jesus.
