Slight Return
Just a quick note to say I'm alive and well and back in Blighty following my trip to the Czech Republic. Quite busy though at the moment and have a couple of gigs over the next two nights so updates are likely to be at the pace of a battered old Skoda until the weekend when I'll post my guide to Prague and deliver my Half Term Reports on the best singles and albums of the first half of the year. To keep you going in the meantime however, here are a few quick links -
And it seems while my back was turned, celebrities' clothes have been falling off, what with the uncensored shots of Polly Harvey's see-through knicks from Glasto revealed via popbitch (transparently not safe for work) and former Steps singer Lisa Scott Lee in some 'candid' topless poolside shots which look so obviously posed the poor dear's career must really be in trouble (Lisa's transparent desperation similarly NSFW).
I'm expecting to keep a low profile on the footie links this coming season with West Ham facing another grim season as we continue to heamorrhage talented players faster than struggling pop stars shed their shreddies. So it's just as well that Hammers fans have now got their own answer to Arseblogger in the shape of Upton Lark, which is Boleyn along nicely so far.
I have loads of book reviews to catch up on, but while you're gnawing your limbs to stumps in anticipation of that, Bookmunch previews the best books due for publication over the next 6 months, as well as speculating on the likely candidates for Booker Prize shortlisting.
Finally, some good news, Basic Instinct 2 is back on although sadly there's no indication of David Cronenberg returning to the projected sequel to the Verhoeven/Ezsterhas original. But this is just the horses dooberries for the news we really want - just when is Showgirls 2 gonna happen?
