Look Who's Boss
For those of you that haven't heard the good news Bruce Springsteen's Old Trafford gig in May is back on. Consideration for the 'mature crowd' expected was giving as a major reason for overturning an earlier decision based on local residents concerns. Mature, they say? Good job no-one told 'em I was going, then...
Questions raised on watching tonight's Top Of The Pops -
How can the delicious Kelly Rowland's tummy be so flat and yet so curvy?
How evil is Sting? Not content with puncturing the cool of Sugababes, he's now destroying what little hope there was left of Craig David gaining some R&B cred. And all with just the one song, too.
And finally, how shit are Blur. I was going to put a question mark at the end of that, but decided it really wasn't necessary. If the tuneless dirge they played on tonight's show is indicative of their new album Think Tank this rather backs up my assertion that the only Blur albums worth bothering with are the ones the critics hate (cf. Leisure; The Great Escape). Chinese Food contained an interesting discussion on and links to the polarised critical reaction to Think Tank this Tuesday just gone (look for post dated 6th May as the permalink not currently working).
Coming soon on Parallax Review - reviews of this week's Hot Hot Heat and Evan Dando gigs; a bumper edition of album reviews; a webcam update(!) and so, so much less. Don't do anything but press the refresh button for at least the next 48 hours. [Health warning: this contravenes all known medical and nutritional guidance]
