If you missed the first episode of Lloyd Cole Knew My Father the six-part 'comedic history of rock journalism' featuring ex-NME hacks Dave Quantick, Stuart Maconie and Andrew Collins on Radio 2 tonight don't worry, you didn't miss too much. It was funny in parts but all a bit laboured and spread a bit thinly - much like their music writing then. And the way they all took it in turns to read their 'wry, witty' script with 'hilarious' interjections and running jokes was a little too uncomfortably close to 'That's Life!' (ask yer dad) for my liking...
