James Coburn: True BrittOut Like Flint

Sad news in earlier today that Oscar-winning actor James Coburn has died of a heart attack aged 74. He played his part in a number of memorable films over the years, including The Magnificent Seven; The Great Escape; The Flint spy spoofs; The Carey Treatment and most recently in Paul Schrader's Affliction. His agent is reported to have said Coburn 'died happy'. I know people mean well when they say things like that, but I still think it's a fucking stupid expression.

West Marin women strip for peace. Pretty safe for work unless your boss has really good eyesight.

Pee Wee Herman mugshot. With a face like that, I sure hope for his sake he's got a good story.

Pitchfork's Top Albums Of The 1980s. Not a bad list as these things go, but a little one-dimensional and revisionist when digested as a whole. There's 3 or 4 albums listed for certain pet bands but not a single inclusion of records by Echo & The Bunnymen; Soft Cell; ABC; The Human League or The Wedding Present, to name just a few off the top of my head.
