Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later: The new farting zombie was proving a strong opponentMaybe the same day when it was announced that Britain had its first suspected rabies victim for 100 years was not the best time to catch Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later in which zombies prowl a plague-ridden UK, but I enjoyed the movie nonetheless.

The film has a distinctive look, is well paced, slightly more thoughtful than one might have expected, and features an impressive central performance from Cillian Murphy as a young courier whose adventures we follow after he wakes up naked in a completely deserted hospital.

It's not without its flaws, but most of these come in the final third, so it's difficult to discuss without including some plot spoilers. Despite minor misgivings though, I'd certainly recommend it for non-squeamish viewers looking for an interesting British film which isn't a romantic comedy starring Hugh Grant.
