Are The Yeah Yeah Yeahs any good? Affirmative.

This one's been out a few months so a bit late catching up with this lot, but heard a track of theirs on Peel recently which tempted me to buy the debut EP from The Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

With Karen O's rasping, tremulous but undeniably sexy vocals over the band's pogo-friendly punkabilly sound, it's a promising debut: a bit like Sleater-Kinney buttfucked by The Fall. They may not be offering anything startlingly original but they do it with a certain style and the right attitude.

Look out for their first long-player when it's released early in the New Year.
