Well fuck me with a rusty far-sighted optical instrument if it isn't The Telescopes reformed and making a comeback with a new album Third Wave a mere nine years after their last (eponymous) record was released on Creation to (undeserved) general apathy. A gig earlier this year in their home town of Burton-on-Trent saw comparisons of their newer material to Add N To (X) and apparently reduced grown men to tears.

A preview of one of the tracks is available here and mp3s and Quicktime videos of the band in their early nineties pomp can be found from here. The new material sounds promising and it's good to have them back. Or as Q Magazine puts it: 'an odd but not unwelcome return.'
