This week's Single Of The Week here at Parallax View is the aptly-titled Addictive by Truth Hurts. It's the one described by NME as the only R&B record you need to hear this year. I feel sure that Tweet, Beyonce and Mary J might have something to say about that, but the unusual, other-wordly allure of the record, complemented by a little bollywood flava plus a guest rap from old skool hero Rakim certainly helps it to stand out from the crowd. Mind you, producer Dr Dre helps demystify the appeal of the record thus: "The song is really simple...all it is is a drum track, bassline and this Indian girl singing. And it [is] incredible."
