Third Annual Parallax Premiership Preview

In what is becoming a bit of a tradition over here at Parallax View here are my not-so-humble predictions for the forthcoming Premiership campaign. I know I'm going to upset my gooner readership with their fourth placing but if Kolo Toure is an international-class centre half my arse is my elbow. Meanwhile, the Tottscum should just about avoid relegation this term, but if Kanoute and Zamora spend as much time on the treatment table as last term it could be a close call. I've gone out on a bit of a limb by tipping Wolves to stay up, but boss Dave Jones has the nous to graft out the necessary points. Mind, if they get off to a bad start and the fans get on his back it could be a different story.

Bad news for fans of Fulham, Leicester and Leeds is that for the last two years I've successfully predicted two out of the three to go down...

1. Manchester United
2. Newcastle United
3. Chelsea
4. Arsenal
5. Blackburn Rovers
6. Manchester City
7. Liverpool
8. Southampton
9. Charlton Athletic
10. Birmingham City
11. Everton
12. Middlesborough
13. Tottenham Hotspur
14. Wolverhampton Wanderers
15. Aston Villa
16. Portsmouth
17. Bolton Wanderers
18. Leeds United
19. Leicester City
20. Fulham

Anyone else want to contribute their own predictions?

Related link: Terence Brown Bites Back. The much vilified Hammers chairman argues a strong case for decisions made at the Upton Park club in the wake of relegation and a £28m cash shortfall. I agree with him on most points, as it happens, but if he hadn't replaced Harry Redknapp two years ago with such an unproven boss as Glenn Roeder we wouldn't have been in this mess in the first place. False economies while we were still in the Premiership proved to be our undoing.

Still, fair play to him for speaking to the fans directly for a change: maybe he should do it more often because, agree with him or not, at least he sounds like he knows what he's talking about.
